EMAIL SUBJECT:
It takes ONE minute - Please Sign this Petition re: Atlantic Yards!

Dear Fellow New Yorker,

I've just signed a petition expressing my opposition to the proposed Nets Arena / Skyscraper "Atlantic Yards" project.

The community supports alternatives for developing the Vanderbilt Yards, which have been shown to be financially viable by the bid submitted by Extell Development Company.
http://dddb.net/php/community/principles.php

Brooklyn can also have its professional sports team if alternative, viable locations for an arena in Brooklyn are considered: http://tinyurl.com/yybzj6.

It took me just a couple of minutes to sign a petition on line -- two minutes that could go a long way to significantly altering the way the Vanderbilt Yards are developed.

If built as proposed, the “Atlantic Yards” would:
--be the biggest private development in Brooklyn’s history
--cost taxpayers at least $1.6 billion
--misuse eminent domain to seize the private property of homeowners and businesses
--irrevocably alter the low-rise character of Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Park Slope
--create a nightmare of traffic, noise, pollution and other negative environmental effects.

Won’t you please take ONE MINUTE and join me in signing the petition?
